Hi, I'm Paul Lally, and I am so happy I have a digital video recorder, because so many of the programs that NHPTV offers are so extraordinary, but so many of them are WAY past my bedtime, I just set my DVR up to record and then hit the hay.
For me, having all these programs ready to watch is like having a wine cellar where I go and pick out something to go with a rainy Wednesday night or a boring Saturday afternoon. A little Masterpiece Theater, or a Nova, or a Frontline or a New Hampshire Windows to the Wild and I'm all set.
I figure that's worth me pulling out my credit card now and then and sending them some money to help them continue to make all this possible at New Hampshire Public Television.
That number on your screen is how you can do the same thing. Do it now, and then you can hit the hay.

Hi, I'm Paul Lally, and I don't know about you, but when I'm clicking through the zillion channels I've got on my cable system, zipping past reality shows and right and left wing commentators, looking to see what's on; when I hit NHTPV something always clicks in my mind and a voice in my head says, "This is good stuff."
Now, mind you, I don't always stop and watch. I mean the Red Sox are the Red Sox, but more often than not I'll hit the brakes and watch, because what I see is always first-rate, top of the line, extraordinary television without - I repeat -without commercials and for that alone, I say thank you, thank you, thank you.
But words aren't enough. Money talks here at NHPTV and they need yours and mine right here, right now. So call the number on your screen or go online and do it there, but do it.
And then you can click your remote and see how the Sox or the Patriots or the Celtics or the Bruins are doing. And know that when the game's over, NHPTV is waiting right here for you.

Hi, I'm Paul Lally, and I have saved literally thousands of dollars by watching NHPTV over the years. Want to know how? Well, let's take "Great Performances," and "Live From Lincoln Center." If I had to buy tickets and airfare to travel to see these extraordinary plays, ballets, operas and musicals, I would have ended up in the poorhouse, and the dog house when my wife found out.
But, thanks to NHPTV I remain happily married and happily satisfied watching some of the finest artists in the world perform for me in the comfort of my own home - with my shoes off, even.
What a great deal that is, and all I have to do in return is send in some money now and then to NHPTV because it costs money to make extraordinary television possible.
You and I both know there's no such thing as a free ride, but I'm telling you, New Hampshire Public television sure makes it feel like it. Let them know how much you appreciate that by calling the number on your screen.

Hi, I'm Paul Lally, and if I had a dime for every hour I spent watching "Nature" with my kids when they were growing up, I'd be a wealthy man. Come to think of it, I am a wealthy man, because I have a wealth of knowledge that I got by watching the David Attenborough's series and all the other extraordinary wildlife and nature programs that show us how beautiful this world really is.
Now my grandkids watch and that makes me happy too, and it also makes me proud of public television for being there for me and my family all these years. Talk about a legacy, and it's one that continues to this day because NHPTV continues to make extraordinary television possible, because you and I still want them to, not only for us, but for generations to come who deserve it just like we did.
Let's make sure that happens. Lets support NHPTV right now, by calling that number on your screen.

Hi, I'm Paul Lally, and I spend a lot of time in front of my computer, for work and for play. Are you like that? A lot of people are, and more and more are becoming so every day. That's why the folks here at New Hampshire Public Television are working hard to make sure their programs not only go out on the air, but go out over the internet too. They don't want to miss us, and we don't want to miss them either, so thanks for doing that.
Here's the hitch - there's always a hitch; it cost a lot more money to get a message out there when you've got a lot of different outlets. But what a great message it is; NHPTV delivers you television worth watching -- even when it's on your computer - especially when it's on your computer.
How to help? If you're watching me on television, call the number on your screen to pledge your support. If you're watching me on your computer, then see that little button next to where it says, "Make Extraordinary Television Possible"? Send your mouse on a mission and click it.

Hi, I'm Paul Lally, and this book of mine tells you how to fix things. In the good old days, I looked up everything from fixing toilets to hanging drywall. Then Public television came along with "This Old House" and this old book's been gathering drywall dust ever since.
When you think about it, the how-to programs on public television are absolutely extraordinary, aren't they? But then, that's what we've come to expect from NHPTV isn't it? I mean it's public television and that means it's got to be far and above anything commercial stations can offer, right? Right.
So how do they do it? How do they deliver us great programming day in and day out, year after year? Because of you and me. We understand that the hard earned money we send here makes all the difference in the world when it comes to NHPTV being able to deliver us a world of great programming. Hmmm… how to do that? Easy. Hi, I'm Paul Lally, and I'm here to say that my kids grew up with Sesame Street. And now my grandkids are doing the same. Now, that is an extraordinary thing to say; that a children's television series could last that long and do such good for kids - and it's still doing it today.
What's the secret? Two things; public television, and you and me supporting it with our hard-earned money.
We understand what's at stake here, so we've taken a stake in NHPTV by giving them our money in return for extraordinary television you can't find anywhere else without getting a headache from all the commercials. Our time is precious, we want to spend it wisely. NHPTV understands that and they always will. Because of our financial support, because we call that number on the screen, or we go online and make it official that way, New Hampshire Public Television won't waste our time -- and they will tell us how to get to Sesame Street.

Hi, I'm Paul Lally, and I looked it up:
"Extraordinary - beyond what is ordinary or usual; highly unusual or exceptional or remarkable."
I've got to admit that's a perfect description of you and me.
How so? Well, we support New Hampshire Public television.
We don't just watch it, that's the ordinary thing to do.
We support it with our hard-earned money, and in my book that's highly unusual, exceptional and remarkable.
And what do we get in return -- besides feeling good? We get the best television on television, every day, right here when we aim our remote at the set, and click, it's Nova, click, it's the News Hour. Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, public television at our fingertips. Call the number right there on the screen. You know what to do. And what do you get in return? Extraordinary television, all because of you and me.
It takes one to know one.
